Not having any luck finding up to date phone #. The site found during my search has 336 966-4080 listed, but this # is out of service :(

I would assume the Miata, for I doubt the Armada needs one :) Dan, best bet is to email him at ghsharp@aol.com - AB

Ok, I am in. ;) The only problem I see is how long it will take to clean out the inside of my Odyssey before each event (toys, errant french fries, juice boxes, etc.). At least you can take an entire group for ride alongs. :)

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

Dan,

Are you talking Borla as in a cat-back exhaust.

Something like this:

http://proficientperformance.com/Mercha ... =BOR-14411

Seems like a lot of $$$ for a simple cat-back on a Miata. I paid $180 at my local shop for 2.25" piping, muffler, and stainless tip. They had to redo the bung for the 02 sensor as well to remove that infamous choke point right after the cat.

Yeah it's amazing how much they charge for a catback system. You think $400 is pricey for a Miata. Borla catback for my Vette, $1,200. And apparently people actually buy them

I agree with you. Go see someone like Henry. Customize a system for your car with Flowmaster or Magnaflow or whatever for less. And if there are any problems with it you get someone locally that will fix it.

I'd have one on the car now if it wasn't for the fact that most of them resonate like mad and cost way too much...

Graham (another cheap bastage)

Well lets be honest you get what you pay for.

A custom exhaust ready to install for a car is going to fit right, the first time. Not develope rattles and probabaly last longer than a shop done version. Also its going to have mandral bends, not chrush bends like a loacl place will make.

Now that being said I have both kinds of my various cars, bought and locally made.

I'd like to see a side by side dyno comparison of both types on the same Miata. Brad had his done locally and has a Flowmaster muffler. Maybe we can have Dan test his Borla system at the next dyno day and see if it's worth the extra $$$?

The Miata that's won the last three CS national championships had a Borla on it, FWIW. But I'm an idiot and now that it needs to be replaced (yes, it's got massive cracking problems now, probably at least partially due to being a Detroit car) I'm probably going to go with a custom pipe with a supertrapp instead of a muffler at all. I don't street it and I *like* being able to hear it good.

Dios mio. So now both the trailered Miata and Celica are going to sound like angry bumblebees?

Indeed. Actually, no more SuperTrapp's for me. I'm cutting it off and creating a side pipe. The Supertrapp, even with all 24 plates, is restricting too much flow according to my last dyno :(

If anyone wants a SuperTrapp end cap real cheap, let me know :) -AB
