i bought a magnaflow muffler and resonator online...i took them and the car to henry's this morning at 8:30am to have them hook it all up with 2.5" tubing.

we put it on the lift and discovered that my trailer hitch wouldn't allow the new muffler to sit inside my bumper notches (not even close). i was going to just remove the hitch and get a new one, but henry said he could fix it. he cut off a section of the hitch and then welded a new steal bracket on that went over the new muffler. all the welding and hangers look excellent...i couldn't be happier...$85 job done in less than an hour.

Magnaflow Rulez!! Woohoo!! I've also used Henry's and been happy with them in the past. The work isn't quite as "polished" as what I've gotten form R&J, but they have been cheap and flexible in the past.

Henry did the Magnaflows on my Vette when I tried them. He did excellent work and only charged me $75. The Magnaflows are a whole different story. I had to take them off. They resonated like mad so it was unbearable to be in the car. I recommended Henry to a friend who got his mid-70s Chrysler redone from the headers back. Custom exhaust all the way. He did a great job on that too. Henry is a gear head and doesn't mind working on custom stuff. I would take my car to him anytime.

where is that location? by the flea market building on capital near 440? I had the muffler put on my rally beater sentra there for like <$70 and they cut and welded my cat on the e28 when I put different downpipes on it.. didnt charge much for that either and did pretty decent work

They have a location on Millbrooke that is closer to me. I need to have a flowmaster 80 put on the Camaro. They have it in stock and said t will take about 45 minutes. Just want to make sure their quality at that location is as good as the downtown location.

Jim if you're just talking about replacing the factory muffler with the flowmaster then I don't think I would hesitate too much.

When I went I was getting some custom cutting and mods aginst the existing piping and new piping and mufflers. Getting it all cut right and hung so the tips ligned up etc was something that Henry does a really good job of. And he does all welds. No hangers.

If this is owned by Henry then he'll stand behind the work and treat you right. He's definetely an honest and fair guy from my experience.

The bad boy has no muffler :) right now. So it is cutting all the existing pipes to fit the muffler up without having to replaces the cool chrome tips. Chome tips go with a mullet from the research I have been doing.

I wish I would have know that and heard it at the meeting. My '86 5.0 had no muffler and wasn't loud at all.

I think Graham ment he does all welds and doesn't use clamps. Take out hangers and the rubber isolaters and you'll get a vibration big enough to rattle your fillings out. :o

Yeah, my bad, meant clamps not hangers. We used all the original hangers and isolaters. But no clamps. He just doesn't beleive in them.

I'd personally drive that little bit farther to get Henry to do it but either way he'll back up any work done.

So how bad does it resonate Jim?

Graham

Actually the car is pretty quiet inside. It was a pleasant 900 mile drive with the windows down. I hope the muffler does not go the opposite direction. If It would pass inspection without on, I would not bother with it.

Stupid state inspections!
