I'm in need of a new set of 205-50-15 Azenis' for this season and it seems that the prices have jumped from $56 each to about $79 this year???? Does anyone know of a place online or local where I could get a set as cheap as possible?

I found a place online a month or two ago that was still selling them for $56, but i have since lost the link

http://www.vulcantire.com/azenis_t.htm has about the best prices I have seen.

BUT BUT BUT!!!! Before you go and order, estimate your shipping cost and take this price list to Mark Cooper at Hubcap Heaven and give him the chance to come close -- while considering the FAR SUPERIOR customer support you will get from Mark. It's easily worth an extra few bucks a tire :) But we need to keep him competitive!

Mike <-- about to do the same with Vulcan's price on 215-45-16s

I just paid Mark Cooper $360 out the door for a set of 205/50-15 Azenis, mounted and balanced.

Good enough for me.

If I lived closer Mark would get my tire business as well. The Azenis' Scott got are the same size as mine. I paid $345 including M&B which is a little cheaper, but my guy is about 10 blocks away and Mark is an hour.

However I did just get a set of Konig Holes (graphite w/polished lip) 15x6.5 from HH&W for the Miata. Mark's price was a match to a set I found on Ebay, but I'd rather give my money to someone I know and who supports THSCC.

Maybe HH&W could do a group buy on the Azenis, but hopefully not give us the trouble we had with Howard on the last one.

From what I'm hearing Vulcan Tire has most of the Azenis' sizes on backorder. They maybe cheaper, but if you can't get 'em does it matter?

I ordered a set of Azenis earlier this week from Vulcan (paid $206 shipped) and right after I ordered them, the status of the 195-60-14s went to "Backorder". I got notification that my tires were scheduled to ship on April 16th. Not a big deal since we don't need them quite yet. I was at Hubcap Heaven yesterday though and talked to Mark and he said he couldn't beat that price....but didn't quote me a specific price. Looking back, if I really needed the tires right away and the price difference was minimal, I would have canceled my order with Vulcan and had him order me some just to give him the business.

Mark is a good guy.

I just picked up a set of Kosei K1 TS 15x7 wheels with Azenis Sports 205/50-15

He charged $74 ea. for the Azenis, $142.75 ea. for the wheels ($6.25 ea *less* than Tirerack) , $40 to mount and balance, tax.

All ready to be picked up a few days after I called him. Painless.

I sometimes thinks he supports *us* even when we think we're supporting *him*.

I just read on the Audi list that one of their sponsors in NVa. charges $32/tire to mount and balance. But "he does great work, including the road force machine"
Note that's $32 *per* tire ....

I would agree that Mark is probably not charging us enough to pay for quick turnaround and quality service. I too purchased Azenis 205/50/15s installed for less than $370.00....although he told me that the tire prices from distributors were going up 15% in july.
BTW mark is one of the few shops that have the state of the art balancing machines. Consider that he also sees a lot of racer types and knows how to please them.

I paid $405 for the 205/50 15's to Mark last month, Kevin Ley at MM Autowerks quoted me $350-360 out the door last Friday. I may not be a smart man, but fifty bucks is fifty bucks.
