Does anybody know of a good electrician near the Fuquay Varina area? I had one lined up but he didn't show and it didn't give me a warm fuzzy when he called 3 hours later to explain why.

Anyway, I'm looking for something that should be simple. I just want to isolate 2 rooms from each other and while I don't have any issues moving a single socket around, separating circuits is getting into the "I might burn down my house" realm.

Heck, while I'm at it, anybody have a recommendation for somebody to purchase and install a bay window? I have a couple of estimates already from random companies but I'd love to be able to use somebody that comes highly recommended.

Thanks,

Jim

I'm having 3 major windows replaced in my house. After getting 4 bids, I'm going w/ Pioneer exteriors. Been in business in the raleigh area for years and had the best price and warranty on their windows. So far these guys have been nothing short of professional. Hope to have the windows installed in a few weeks. Seems everyone is jumping on the tax credit thing. I'll let you know how the whole experience went once I'm done.

We have used Landmark Electric and they have been reliable and prompt. Ask for Dom. 639.7730 or cell 215.6549

I wound up using DeLucia Electrical Service. Andy, the owner, works for NCSU full time and does side jobs during the evenings and weekends. He came out early Saturday morning and wound up suggesting and better way to achieve what I wanted to accomplish. On top of that, his suggestion was at least half the price of what I originally wanted done he actually gave me more of what I was looking for.

Anyway, honest guy who does great work if anybody is looking for an electrician for smaller jobs.

Rodney, Poineer is one of the few "bigger" local companies that I haven't called for whatever reason. I see that they carry one of the bay windows I'm looking for so I'll see if I can get an estimate from them. So far, I've gotten estimates from Home Depot, Aluminum Company, My Guys Remodeling and Window World. HD would be self-installation or find a local guy to help. I don't have much of a problem with doing a regular window by myself but a 500lb+ bay window may be more than my little back can handle. At least if I want to be able to walk next year. :)

And, oddly enough, the tax credit thing was just a bonus. I didn't even know it existed until I started shopping. My motivation is a re-do of my home office (cabling, paint, floors) and the bay window is simply an attempt to give the cats something to hang out on as opposed to my desk. Coincidentally, my desk sits right in front of the window in the office. Go figure... :D

Thanks,

Jim

We had window world do our replacement windows and they did a good job, quick and the windows are of good quality. The sales rep even steered us away from a bay window with a planter saying that while they carry them, the weight is always a problem and they will leak
