Forum access and 2009 membership renewals

One of the perks of THSCC membership is access to the forums, online Heel and Toe as well as the “passcode” used for early event registration. Only THSCC members should have access to these. Senior officers at their discretion may allow a few non members (Affiliated track program staff, NCAC representatives from other clubs, etc.) access as well. Also only club members can accumulate points toward end of year championships.

Club membership runs from January through December. We give 3-4 months of a grace period to give people a chance to renew. But after that grace period, I compare the forum membership against the official club membership list and then disable the forum accounts for members who have let their club membership expire.

So this is your notification that if you have not renewed, that in two weeks or so, your forum account is going to be deactivated. Deactivating an account is not the same as deleting it. Post history, etc. will still exist while an account is deactivated. If you renew after the deactivation, I can re-enable your account.

Last year, due to being really busy personally, I was not able to send out a final notification email to each person who was about to have their account deactivated. That turned out to be a mistake as we had a handful of people who had renewed at the end of year party or at an early event, but were not on the membership list. So due to no fault of there own, they were incorrectly deactivated. So to prevent this from happening again, I will be sending out emails this year so that people will know in advance if they are going to be deactivated. So if your forum account lists a valid email account you will get a notice if you are about to loose your forum access.

If you know that you have just forgotten to renew, then use the form from the main THSCC web site to renew…

I have done my analysis. It was based upon a membership list from early last month. The list below is of forum members with an active forum account who have not renewed their THSCC membership for 2009.

If you are on the list below you will loose your forum access in a matter of days. I will also be sending out an email to those on the list in case you don’t see this post. Beware, if your email address is no longer active, I can’t contact you and give you advance notice.

As I mentioned above, we had some issues with regards to membership renewals last year. Basically some had renewed, but somehow didn't make it onto the membership list. Or maybe you are on the list and I made a mistake. So if you did renew and you are on the list, just let me know and give me any details that you can so we can track down your renewal. If you forgot to renew, just follow the instructions above and let me know that the check is in the mail and I will update my list.

I expect that the reminder emails will go sometime this week (maybe as soon as tonight) and I will give people a few days to respond before I disable forum access. Feel free to post here or PM me with any questions.

Why do you not like me? I even have my membership card on the fridge for this year. :oops:

One year, I paid at the meeting, I was on this list; the next year I paid at an event...on the list....finally, this year I mailed it.....on the list........sigh

Maybe I'll just join Triad, maybe they will accept my money and give me membership :idea:

Unfortunately each year we have a few people who have renewed but are just not on the list for whatever reason. I saw that you weren't on the list again this year and was wondering if it was going to be a third year of bad luck for you.

We have cleared up a number of renewal snafus as well as processed a number of renewals. I have updated the list above based upon the corrections and renewals.

So as a last warning, I will be deactivating those on the list above within a day or two.

Crap, I need to mail in my $$$.

Has there been any further discussion of the club accepting Paypal?? I know there have been some on-again off-again discussions about this, and I'm not trying to open a can of worms, but I think the convenience of accepting Paypal payments far outweighs any fees they may charge.

If it's truly a concern, why not require the people who want to use Paypal to add an extra $2 or so to cover fees??????

And, I've offered before, but if the issue is that there's no one who wants to "handle" the Paypal payments- I'll volunteer to be the official THSCC "Paypal Czar"....especially if I can get that title embroidered on an official Members Only jacket.

Forum purge for 2009 is done. I used the list posted above. Anyone that emailed, PMed or replied to this thread saying they either did renew (and our records were wrong) or you are in the middle of renewing were removed from the purge list.

I posted a message in the visitors forum so that anyone who somehow missed the notice here as well as the email notification that was sent to them will know why they are not able to log into the forum.

Again, I appologize to anyone who did renew but was incorrectly put on the purge list.
