It is with somewhat mixed feelings that I am here once gain to announce my departure from a brake company. Contrary to the situation with my previous employer, this is entirely 100% my decision. I am completely leaving the brake industry to resume an engineering career in the high-tech industry. On July 7th I will start as a core process engineer for Corning in Concord NC. Sometimes, you just gotta do what you gotta do, and getting in with a company like Corning is just simply a no-brainer. They are the 800lb gorilla in the optical fiber industry.

I am going to remain in an advisory position with BHP. My BHP email address will still be active, and I will be available through that to answer questions about BHPs friction materials and available products. I will also, for the near term, continue to represent BHP as much as I can at the track (which will unfortunately be significantly more limited now). In addition, I hope to be involved in the future development of BHP's friction materials.

Orders can still be placed at 704-489-8399, you just won't be talking to me. I will make sure they are clear THSCC members do still get a 10% discount.

You working at that big plant on 601 just outside Concord toward Monroe? Just curious since I remember when that was a small airport and they built the plant quickly, then started a massive expansion only to have the floor fall out of the fiber market and now the expansion has just sat there for years only partially completed. They got any plans to finish that?

That's the one. No plans to complete the 1/4 completed expansion. All the steel is rusty. Probably would have to be torn down.
