The track program has signed on Rush Hour Karting this year as a sponsor for their events. Rush Hour has expressed interest in us holding a club gathering there, so I would like to find out who would be interested in attending. If we have enough interest (30+ people), we could look into actually renting the place out for an hour to an hour and a half and having the place to ourselves. I started a poll with a few possibilities, so please place your vote as to what would work for you.

Also keep in mind that Cinelli's is now occupying the restaurant there on-site, so it might be a good option for the monthly club meeting.

Do you have a plan that includes some racing or are you just arranging a meeting there? I vote weekend since I work every wednesday you have the club meeting.

Stephen for President!!! Oh wait...

Seriously though, that's an awesome idea but I guess the track time would be before the meeting so folks can drink suds after driving.

If we can get 30-35 people to agree on going and racing, each person would get a sprint race (5 min practice, 8 min qualifying, 8 min race) for $30 which is $5 off the member price and it wouldn't matter if you weren't a member.

If we have any less than 30 people, we would probably just have to pay individually (possibly with a small discount).

One idea that might work, we could do an hour long race with like 10 teams of 3 people each. We'd still need 30 people, but that could be fun. We could probably come up with a good prize for the winning team too.

Frankly, the way that place operates, it'd take till midnight just to cycle everyone through who wants to, if we had our meeting there on a regular business night for them. My vote would be to reserve the place for ourselves for some amount of time. Maybe we could have the meeting there after, or maybe just have this be a separate event. I don't know how much more difficult it might be to try to have a meeting while the room is open to the public.

I would certainly try to make any meeting there, as it is close to where I live (closer than the Rudino's where the meeting is currently held).

I agree we need to reserve the place or else we seem to just get pushed back pretty consistently, which sux. I do think that track time before meeting time works well for suds.

I'm old and I must be stupid as well 'cause I'll be damn if I can figure out how to vote. That said, I'm up for meeting anytime. Weekdays are preferable since there's generally less folks there.

Well, unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be enough interest for us to rent the track for 1-1/2 hours and have it all to ourselves. I have to get 30 people (or 30 filled slots if someone wants to run more than once) for that to happen. If I take those in favor of having the meeting there plus those that voted for "anytime", that only gives me 16 people.

On the otherhand, I don't mind arranging a group outing there if that's what we want....we will just have to deal with whatever other "traffic" is there when we go.

Let me know what everyone thinks.

I think it is a great idea, but unfortunately that is a three hour one-way drive for me.
