Don't know if any of you have seen the forecast recently, but Fishel was saying we'd get up to 12" of snow tomorrow in the Cary area (up to 3" in Four Oaks), starting in the morning. Want to postpone, or should I deliver the bus tonight? Cause I damn sure ain't driving it in the snow.

I would vote to postpone the next weekend. Sunday wasn't a very attractive day anyway.

Can still get the bus serviced this coming week and do the Bus Day after the servicing?

OK guys and gals I'd like to say the bus day is still ON as long as the roads are passable on Sunday. I know it's gonna be cold, but it builds character :) (The following weekend doesn't work too well for me and involves a lot more bus shuttling which I don't have time for.)

If you think you'll crash on the way here, don't come! I'll be out there working one way or another though!

Rain, sleet, snow, or shine -- see everyone (or maybe no one?) on Sunday.

PS - I have been deleting irrelevant posts in this thread that don't contribute to the bus day to keep the thread from being too long.

CHICKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!

Come put some snow tires or chains on it and promise me that you and the rest of the idiots will stay off the roads, and it won't be an issue. :P :D

And Chris, no thanks. If there's precipitation in the morning, I'm not going to trust it not to turn to snow halfway to Mike's. Don't want to get stuck on I-40 with the people who can't navigate through 1/4" of snow while it becomes several inches.

i have some worn out snow tires on.. theyre not mud worthy anymore.. but as long as i dont have tooo bad roads, i'll still try, i am coming to help you mike ... you are my freind. i will help you if i can.the tires on my car are for the mud, at heavy equipment school, which is over now. if something happens, i'll tell you. as long as the roads are not impassable. ( i have a shovel if roads near the house get too bad, i'll shovel our drive if i have to) maybe even stay in a hotel so i get sleep without wrecking home.

UPDATE - If there is snow on your driveway tomorrow evening, the bus day is CANCELLED.

We can deal with the cold but if there is standing snow/slush on the driveway we just can't adequately clean everything. We need to be able to toss stuff out on the ground without it all getting messed up. I'll post another update tomorrow late afternoon about whether we're on or not. But if the white stuff is accumulating and there is no chance of it melting, we'll do it next weekend.

FYI bus is here in the cul-de-sac, and I will take it to Triangle Truck on Monday for all the maintenance stuff, bus day or no.

You guys have fun tomorrow if there is a bus day. Between the craptastic weather and the two conference championship games, I'll be on a couch.

Next week, and I'll be there like Ric Flair.

Thanks to everyone who came out. It was a pretty easy bus day compared with years past. Here is the list of what I can tell is still on the "to do" lists:

PURCHASES TO DO
---------------
Bungee cords
Stepstool/steps
FRS headset?
Hanging pen box for file cabinet
Oil Dry

TO DO - CLEAN AND ORG
---------------------
Trailer exterior wash

TO DO - MAINTENANCE
-------------------
Make/find window props
Create club contact list for wall
Hitch system lube
Leaking roof panel?

The bus was dropped off at Triangle Truck and Auto on Hwy55 in Morrisville. I just asked them to do the following work. If there are no surprises it will be well under $1000:

AT SHOP - MAINTENANCE
---------------------
DIAGNOSTICS
Brake pull, poor cold weather performance, brake light on dash
AC diagnose / repair / fill

REPAIR
Check all glow plugs - hard starting
Trailer fender light replace

MAINTENANCE
Bleed brakes
Fuel filter change
Replace air filter
Trans fluid change
Diff fluid change
Bus state inspection
Trailer state inspection
Oil change
Chassis lube
Chassis inspection

That's been on my to do list for a while now. Maybe I should get off my butt and actually find something. I'll try to do that this week.

Bump-for new info re: bus.

Yesterday when moving the bus to get it ready for the “big clean” today, I found a leak coming from the overhead emergency exit. I can see where the water is dripping to the floor, but can’t exactly locate the entry point. I’ll show Dustin while he’s here today.
