It appears I am a victim of this time honored tradition of railroading. I talked to Ryan about it at the event, but just to be clear, I don't know who put my name on the ballot for Worker Coordinator, but just be clear to everyone, I am not interested in the position and never volunteered for it. I'd really appreciate it if people would respect that, Ryan told me he'd take my name off the ballot, and if whoever put me on initially would please NOT put me back on I'd appreciate it very much, this applies to other positions as well. Thank you.
Do you go to the club meetings? Nominations work like this:
Person A: "I nominate Person B for position X."
Either nothing happens, or you hear:
Person C: "I second the nomination."
Often you hear Person B say, "No way in hell."
Then you hear the president say, "Motion accepted."
It's that simple. The only part of the process that is a conspiracy is the general effort to get people on the ballot that don't want to be there, thus putting them in the hot-seat and making them uncomfortable. It's all in good
FUN.
Read over the Donnie Barnes for President thread. If at the end of that thread you actually think that DB wants the job, and will get elected for the position, then I don't know what to say.
Last year Wes Eargle was on the ballot for every position available. The ballot included comments like:
Registrar (don't vote for Wes):
Amy Mindick
Wes Eargle
Needless to say, Amy won, however We still got a few votes
