I've been head's down in work lately, so haven't really be following this...

First, thank you Stephen and everybody else that has been working this. Events in general are hard enough to put on without the kind of crap that has apparently happened here. Whatever comes of this, I'm behind you, and thank you for your work.

Second, I haven't voted, because I don't know the facts. Here's my simple take:

I'd Vote Option 1 if TSCC is just trying to provide the intent of the original event at their centrally located site, AND if our $$ contribution to the event doesn't expose OUR club if anything DID happen.

I'd Vote Option 2 if at the end of the day the decision makers in TSCC are doing something contrary to providing the intent of the original event at their centrally located site.

Finally, if the as-scheduled August 19-20 event (whatever it's called, wherever it is) is NOT our points event, I'd suggest we make our November non-points event into a points event instead. As it appears to be the case for some others, we made our vacation plans (and in this case Marisa's baptism) around the original THSCC calendar, and will be out of town the weekend prior. Not too big of a deal for us with point drops, but at least pushing it out gives people a little time to plan. I don't know for sure if we'll be at the November event, but at least we'd have the option to chose. Same reasoning for season-pass issues - but I'm sure we will have all those details figured out in due time.

Regardless of what "could have been done better", and regardless of what happens, your efforts on this are appreciated.

We have made our decision based on the poll here. We will be joining the other clubs in Greensboro that weekend. Ryan and I plan to sit down with the other clubs sometime this week and hash it all out. So for now....the show will go on. As soon as we know the details of our level of involvement....we will let you know.

Just so you know, this wasn't an "ultimatum" given to us by Triad. Highlands and CCR voted on this with them to keep the event in Greensboro, Triad was just the messenger. When we made the move to Sanford, there were members in all the clubs that said simply, they wouldn't come. Our decision to move it would have hurt attendance from the other clubs greatly. When they made their decision, they left an open/welcoming invitation for us to please join them. We all know that we have a lot of talent in our club, so a State Championship without us wouldn't have been the same.

I know everyone wants more detail on what has taken place over the last couple of weeks. Be patient. As soon as our illustrious leader returns from his trek to Michigan (by the way....I don't think he recommends trying to plan a wedding and the NCAC at the same time..), we will shed a little light on the situation for you, so hang tight.

And in regards to our event in August, that is still up in the air too. There have been many good suggestions on how that should be handled and they are all being considered. It sounds like there was conflict to be at the August 13th date for many members, so that probably isn’t a go….at least as a points event. Again, we will work that out when Ryan gets back.

We really appreciate everyone’s patience in this matter while we sort this out.

That sounds great. I'm sure a good time will be had by all clubs and a big thanks to all the folks behind the scenes & keyboards!

Holy crap you people. *sad*
Anyone who was at the meeting got "all the facts" and any of their questions answered. I'm also SURE that calling the officers would result in the explanation of any "facts" you believe you are missing. And this is generally the case _every time_.

There are issues that are not handled best by posting everything and completely public discussion. This does not mean anything is secret: you have the option to call your officers. They have already said that the information is available to you, just via voice only.

Call.
Your.
Officers.

Or, if it's really critical that the information be emailed to you, become an officer of the club.

I think this thread has run it's course as far as what the intent was (poll). I am going to lock this thread.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.
