Folks, we've gotten very few replies yet. Bowie and Christine need to know how much food to bring, so please check with your social secretaries and send in your RSVPs.

Art,
What did I tell you?
Sent to Art on 10/4/05
How about the rolling total category. That is how my insurance company has classed the 210.
One of the 'burus would take the great unwashed category. Kevin would find a mud puddle to do doughnuts in.

George,
We could have a "great unwashed" category?

Be discreet with the doctor, since there will be children around.

George, just enter whatever car actually gets you to the party site and we'll invent a class for it.

Everybody else, if you have a preference between chicken, hamburgers and hot dogs, please indicate in your RSVP email.

Reminder, please send in your RSVPs NOW to party@thscc.com

Bowie and Christine need to know how much food to buy and Charlie and I need to arrange for enough tent and table space.

So far we have just 19 people attending. and only 2 announced Concours entrants. both LGSCs.

Here are photos of the winning entries from the 2001 Concours: http://home.earthlink.net/~artmcd/2001/ ... l2001.html
Fifteen entries that year. Read the notes below on the 2001 entries and then start prepping your entry for this year!

COMPLETE JUDGES NOTES from the 2001 Concours:

#1) 1992 Nissan Sentra SE-R - Racy Red - Matt Nicholson
Exterior - Paint above average, THSCC sticker - clean daily driver.
Interior - Who picked out that roll bar padding?
Engine Compartment - Minor dirt accumulation, ratty battery tie down.
Judges' comments - Who picked out that roll bar padding?

#2) 1995 Ford Taurus SHO - Brilliant Crimson - Art McDonald
Exterior - Above Average.
Interior - Leather seat trim a bit tired.
Engine Compartment - Clean, but not like the IS 300.
Judges' comments - Intake manifold has too many of those intake things.

#3) '90 Mazda Miata - Experienced Red - Robert (The Enforcer) Plank
Exterior - Somewhat weathered paint, unidentifiable insect entrails observed.
Interior - Belongs to a bachelor.
Engine Compartment - Outstanding! The best import beer bottle display we've seen. We also liked the "kson Racing" supercharger. Is that Klingon?
Judges' comments - A car to be reckoned with.

#4) 1981 Chevrolet Pickup - Pearl White - Kent Young
Exterior - Excellent paint, practical bug deflector.
Interior - Patriotic, with American flags mounted on the dash. Sporty gauges on steering column.
Engine Compartment - Clean. Minor deduction for oil funnel and rags, not unusual for this make.
Judges' comments - This should do fine in E-Street Prepared.

#5) 2001 Nissan Pathfinder - Shiny White - Sammy Whipple
Exterior - Disappointing. Bug guts on grill, brake dust on wheels. Daddy should be more careful.
Interior - Very clean.
Engine Compartment - Dusty.
Judges' comments - What is this, a truck?

#6) 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT - Bribery Green - Martha Caves
Exterior - Excellent, except for a dusty taillight lense.
Interior - Thank$
Engine Compartment - Showroom condition!
Judges' comments - Thank$

#7) 1994 Mustang Cobra - It's White - Drew Manzella
Exterior: Confusing - European racing stickers, Japanese racing stickers, NASA stickers. Inventive use of electrical tape for decoration. Badly curbed wheel rim.
Interior - Present.
Engine Compartment - Highly professional installation of the "Anti-Static Grip Modulator Version III, with Chirp Technology".
Judges' comments - Bravo!

#8) 1970 Your Father's Olds Cutlass Convertible - Metalflake Red - Rodney Wright
Exterior - Love that gold metalflake, minor rust, above average for age.
Interior - Much above average for age. Very clean. Nice shift knob.
Engine Compartment: Engine's gold paint could easily be mistaken for brown, we applaud!
Judges' comments - Inventive reuse of old disk brake pad for battery tie down.

#9) 2001 Toyota MR2 Spyder - Call Marcus Hill Red - Dan Ecclestone
Exterior - Excellent.
Interior - Excellent.
Engine Compartment - What the! Oh, it's back there. Clean, minor oxidation on valve cover. Tsk.

#10) 2002 Lexus IS 300 - Embarrassingly Red - Lynn (and Mark) Senior
Exterior - Really, really, really red.
Interior - Tite!
Engine Compartment - Dinner is served.
Judges' comments - Phat!

#11) 1980 Ford F-150 Pickup - Geriatric Red - Kathy Morris
Exterior - Ugh.
Interior - A little better. NASCAR-approved belts.
Engine Compartment - Lots of heated luggage space!
Judges' comments - Do not bear repeating.

#12) 1993 Mazda Miata LE - Wax Me Black - Mike Whitney
Exterior - Above average, but visible water spots. Tsk.
Interior - Thanks for the beers!
Engine Compartment - Nice strut.
Judges' comments - What do you mean you want the beers back?

#13) 1992 Nissan SE-R - Stealth Grey - Peter Guthrie
Exterior - Excellent use of ricey graphics.
Interior - Sparkling. We liked the auxiliary "system" in the trunk.
Engine Compartment - Natural.
Judges' comments - A strong contender for "Riciest".

#14) 2002 Corvette Z06 - Electron Blue - Mike Dishman
Exterior - Perfect. Patriotic American Flag decal, THSCC decal.
Interior - Perfect. Red accent color looks great with black leather.
Engine Compartment - Duh!
Judges' comments - When do we get to drive it?

#69) 1985 Rolling Love Van - Dingy White - Anders Green
Exterior - Let's talk about the interior.
Interior - But not with children present!
Engine Compartment - Unique Bi-Directional Access. Lots of yellow. Rotted rubber battery tie down.
Judges' comments - We suggest upgrading to a 1965 VW Microbus RLV.

Now that I've replaced the battery tie down with steel, might have to come back and defend the title...

I'll be putting the SO4 championship-winning, undefeated-on-dirt 2.5RS rallycross car in the show. It will be dirty underneath, but clean on top. :D (there's seriously like 20-30 pounds of dirt stuck to the underside - you got an award for that? )

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Fall Party/picnic Sunday afternoon. In particular, I'd like to thank Bowie Gray and Christine Allen for cooking dead birds and dead cows, and Charlie Guthrie for renting the site.

Mark Senior was quite hurt that so few people tried out his croquet course. Some called it unfair, and Mike Dishman called it "an outrage", but it seemed to pay off for Mark, as he handily won the only game played on the course.

This link contains the pictures I took of the Concours winners, plus a few others. http://home.earthlink.net/~artmcd/2005/ ... l2005.html I'm sure Kevin Allen has more event photos to post soon.

It's interesting to see that a van has captured the People's Choice award twice in a row now...

Will anyone opine on what this means for the future of our society?

Anders
