Rick,

Did you go? Any other THSCC'ers attend this event? If so, I'm definitely curious as to how the surface is there, and any other details about the event you'd want to share.

Ewwww, 57 drivers? WOW, it seems we made a REALLY good decision!

Sally and I would have attended the event if we weren't off visiting family. Sorry to hear that it didn't get a good showing.

Might have been more corvettes had they not scheduled the event the same weekend as a cruise-in at the factory in Bowling Green.

No, I did not attend. I just was checking out their results and noted the low attendance and in particular the lack of any significant Corvette participation.

A quick check of their forum indicates that most people thought it was a good event, but so far no specific references to the size and condition of the site.

Corvette people aren't racers, they're waxers... I just like hanging out with racers, that's why I joined THSCC

As I mentioned when this was first posted. It was a weekend where there were many other scheduled events for Corvette owners. Ones that were advertised and planned well in advance of any noise being made about Maggie Valley. A day late and a dollar short. The Corvette Forum trip to Bowling Green is a big turn out. The NCCC had events going on all over the coutry on Memorial Day weekend. Some people opted to go to Maggie Valley for the show and just to hang out. I'm sure there were more than 3 Vettes in MV over the weekend.

If it wasn't for HSCC doing the autocross there wouldn't have been anyone there doing it. From the notes on CF there wasn't that much interest in autocrossing. The guy cross posted in the Autocross, SouthEast, and some other areas. Got little to no mileage out of it.

If they're going to do this event next year then they need to start marketing it now and get peoples attention.

Graham
