I would have just added us, but I didn't want to step on any toes by doing so.

The new Grassroots website just came online, and its about time. The only question about listing THSCC is the location on the map. Wilson?

I'd go with Raleigh or Durham, it's where we have the meetings and where most of the member base is.

We don't show up on the map. Also, I think If I saw that the club was in wilson I would look at the clubs that appear closer.

Tarheel is one word from a club name stand point. That needs to be fixed....

I didn't see there even was a list. We need to get on the map!

Various thoughts...

* Tarheel vs. Tar Heel (as already mentioned)
* Provided web link is for the HPDE/TT page and not the main home page.
* Provided contact info is HPDE specific (Brad). A general contact address should be provided (maybe club president).
* Description should be re-written and expanded. It currently reads a bit like "HPDE FTW! Oh.. and we do autocross and rallycross as well". I think equal billing and more info about the club is needed. It should mention the area we try to serve, age of club, toot our horn a bit, etc.
* I have mixed feelings about the Wilson, NC location. While accurate, it also misleads. I would likely leave it blank (as some others have done). Interestingly enough, we have "Wilson, NC" listed, but we are not on the interactive Google map (which I think is mostly useless anyhow). But yet, when you filter by State, we show up in the NC list. If there is two settings (text location and map location), I would leave the text location empty and then set the triangle as the map location.

As mentioned in other threads, if we point people to the main THSCC.com website, and given that the forum is closed to non-members, we need to have a prominent link on the home page to Facebook (as that seems to be the home for questions from non-members).

I think the usefulness of the map depends on wether one is visually oriented or not, but in any event, the club should show up *somewhere* on the map.

I hear what you are saying, I am highly visually oriented, but their implementation of the map sucks (IMHO).

You filter by state and the list below changes and while the map also filters, it doesn't change zoom. So you have to manually zoom in and window in on NC. Then clicking on the locations does nothing but show a name for the label. So you get a single Google maps "pin". Is the location.... The incorporated location? Where meetings are hosted? The geographic centroid for the area is serves? Who knows? Also, clicking on the pin could have also filtered the list below to show details for the specific club they clicked on. I expect 90% of the users will not mess with the map, or if they do who knows what type of info they might take away from it. Regardless, their UI design is not anything we can control.

Ok, can someone reach out to Brad so we can update the club info? I think we should just leave the map location as Wilson or remove it all together, but mention that the club spans the triangle to Eastern NC. But the club should also be 'discovered' if putting NC into the search.

I also agree that the text of the description should be less HPDE-centric and more general.
