Various thoughts...
* I have mixed feelings about the Wilson, NC location. While accurate, it also misleads. I would likely leave it blank (as some others have done). Interestingly enough, we have "Wilson, NC" listed, but we are not on the interactive Google map (which I think is mostly useless anyhow). But yet, when you filter by State, we show up in the NC list. If there is two settings (text location and map location), I would leave the text location empty and then set the triangle as the map location.

I think the usefulness of the map depends on wether one is visually oriented or not, but in any event, the club should show up *somewhere* on the map.
I hear what you are saying, I am highly visually oriented, but their implementation of the map sucks (IMHO).
You filter by state and the list below changes and while the map also filters, it doesn't change zoom. So you have to manually zoom in and window in on NC. Then clicking on the locations does nothing but show a name for the label. So you get a single Google maps "pin". Is the location.... The incorporated location? Where meetings are hosted? The geographic centroid for the area is serves? Who knows? Also, clicking on the pin could have also filtered the list below to show details for the specific club they clicked on. I expect 90% of the users will not mess with the map, or if they do who knows what type of info they might take away from it. Regardless, their UI design is not anything we can control.
