2014 Membership Renewal - NEW - MotorSportReg

All, moving forward, we will not be taking membership application (new or renewals) the old way (a few might sneak in which we'll manually port over but we're going to remove the PDF membership application and instead link to MSR).

There will be a year long MSR 'event' where you go to renew:

The data will be collected as it always has been for new memberships and you will not miss out on the heckling at the monthly meetings, don't you worry

Lifetime folks will be manually input soon.

If you don't know your membership number, don't select the box that says "I know my membership number". We will remedy this behind the scenes.

Those with existing lifetime memberships AND MotorsportReg accounts have already been updated. There were a few lifetime members without accounts, so if you have a lifetime membership and just created your MSR account, please contact us to update your MSR profile.

I'm a lifetime member and have a Motorsports Reg account (as "Donald Barnes"), but as near as I can tell it does NOT show me as "registered" for the "event."

Zach can correct me if I'm FOS but I think lifetime people will not show up in the yearly membership events. There is a boolean field we've added to member accounts that is lifetime:true/false (or something like this).

You won't be registered for the event since the event "attendees" are for those paying for 2014 only.

I couldn't find you because you haven't added your THSCC membership to your account. Go to My Account > Edit My Information > Club Memberships > Edit Clubs, and add "Tarheel Sports Car Club." Once that is done, I will confirm your membership status with no expiration date to reflect your lifetime membership.

Worked fine! Much easier than writing and mailing a form and check.

I don't find an attendees or membership list. Just a message saying that one is not available.

You may have already taken this into account, but if you guys can include one (or two) extra fields behind the scenes, you can map the forum account identifier to the THSCC or Motorsports Req membership account identifier. This will make the annual forum purge so much easier. I don't have access to the phpBB schema right now, but whatever the UserID is would be my first pick. It never changes, even if you (or rather an admin) changes your Username. Second pick would be the Username. You might want to maybe store both, but trust the UserID and use the Username for reference.

There would be a one time mapping exercise (and I already have the data to map Forum ID to THSCC membership number) for everyone and then a long term mapping for new forum members (assuming you don't get that automated at some point).

Also a lifetime member. I created and updated my profile. Just a note that there are two THSCC clubs listed which may create some confusion.

Confirmed your lifetime membership.

We were doing some testing with having two clubs, but have decided to just use the primary one: "Tarheel Sports Car Club," not the one with "autocross, rallycross, social." The latter will be deleted soon. Thanks for letting us know.
