Brice: Oops, somehow I just edited Rodney's post instead of posting my own. I didn't know I could do that even. Whoa, they grant crazy power to VP's.

Um, Rodney said some stuff about it being tough to find the right spot. He mentioned Rush Hour karting, and the fact that they are a sponsor and how that would be nice. He was also looking into Backyard Bistro and that was our likely next attempt, and focusing on the Cary area. Rodney, can you put your post back here?

As a unbiased, almost outsider (hey, I live in ILM and can't make it to meetings  ) I think this is a valid point and to be able to eat quickly, get the meeting underway/completed in a timely fashion and people being able to leave then on thier own accord could be attractive to members. 8)

And if it's the one on Cary Parkway and 54 it's a closed Chinese Buffet.

Please God, not Golden Corral. Obviously I'm in the beer fan camp and would vote that we continue seeking a place that serves beer and food. I suppose I would still go to the meetings if they were held somewhere that doesn't serve beer, I did attend meetings during the Golden Corral "dark ages", however I wouldn't be very happy about it. This roaming about from place to place is definitely getting old though. Unfortunately finding a place that is a perfect fit is difficult.

Thanks man! Honestly, I wasn't sure it would have helped, but at this point it's a different ballgame.

We'll see what folks say, if anything.

Finding a tasty Chinese buffet (a lot of them have American style bar food) might be a good idea as they usually have big banquet rooms that go unused. Then again, as we mentioned with El Rodeo, you're limited to eating one type of food. :?

Hi! I saw your post about hosting a private party- I'm the event coordinator at Mosaic Wine Lounge, located on Glenwood South. We're an upscale wine lounge with a private room that can hold around 60 people (sofa seating). We host many private events and work closely with a private catering company, Urbana Catering, who could cater food for your event. If you're still looking for a place to host your event, I'd be happy to discuss our possible options and availability. Please let me know if you're interested!

Sincerely,

Steven Feinberg

sounds like it'll be a little too much for us. but perhaps someone can check out the lounge. its downtown, i guess the only negative.

Before Brice rewrote my post in regard to finding a new place, one thought was to go to rushhour karting to have our March meeting. The are right off of i40 down hiway 70 and they are a club sponsor. Would you like to hold one of our meetings there? Plenty of room in the restaurant and when I was there a few weeks ago, only a handful of patrons. I can talk to the owner to set it up. do we want to try there? I know this will not be convenient for Gwen and Bernie. Just throwing it out, otherwise I'm looking at backyard bistro as our next location to meet or somewhere in Cary.

There is NO parking on Glenwood south other than the parking deck near Naper Tandys. I think this would tough to pull off, but I'll drop by to see what they have to offer.
