Thirding this one. I really liked the meeting we had at Randy's. Other people hearing our meetings sounds like a problem for the owner and the other patrons. Hell, we might get a few extra members out of it.

Well, I see it's obvious you guys like Stephen better than you like me

I agree that the location is great and the fact you prepay for the food, takes a lot out of the service equation. I don't agree w/ the setting, but seems the club is leaning this way. I can't make it over to Randy's to confirm until Saturday, I'm in class all week until 8p. We'll also have to bump up the meeting time, again, not a fan of that either. This also means truncating the meeting and leaving no time for after meeting conversations as we'll have to technically leave the restaurant by 8p.

We'll also need to start the meeting by 7:15 and that only leaves us 45 min to eat and 45 min to do the meeting itself. Considering some of the discussions lately, I think we're doing a disservice to the club by cutting the meeting times.

Granted, we can talk outside, but we couldn't talk as a group. Rain would also cut that short. Assuming the owners are OK w/ us staying late, I'll consider this. If they want us out by 8, then I'll state again, I'm not a fan of this.

I'm in for Randy's Pizza and less talky talky during the meetings.

I remember that during the meeting we had trouble hearing people going on at length about some autox "business" a couple of tables away. So that's a plus. Unless you actually want to hear people talking about autox.

+1 for Randy's, if they'd be willing to stay open till 9 (or at least 8:30) to accommodate us.

I contacted Tobacco Road last thursday and haven't heard back...

Then what's the point of the meeting? Casual conversation is why I like going to meetings. Eating quickly and ramroding the track/rallyx/autox reports and the other usual meeting stuff doesn't sound appealing to me. We can just start setting up monthly email blast w/ that stuff.

Damn, I feel like I'm swimming upstream here....

Cutting the AX results (unless they are required by bylaws) will cut a good 5-10 mins from the meeting. Everyone who cares about the results has already known them for days/weeks before the meeting.

again, my point, we're making this into a timed event. I really don't like where this is headed.... I thought the point of the meeting was to conduct some club business and talk w/ friends, not eat quick, listen to some required meeting info and bail.

I guess I'm missing the point here.

I do not like having to be out by 8, and like the meetings because of the talk, not despite it. Not in favor of Randy's on this point...I thought we were thinking BBQ?!?!

Randy's for me. The pizza is exponentially better than Rudinos and much better beer than Rudinos or Blincos or Rally point. I LIKE the open format.

Just to address a few concerns, I actually thought we would move everything up 30 minutes. Meet as early as 6 if you like, start the meeting at 7. When I talked to the owner, he said he'd be fine staying 15-30 minutes late. I'm guessing one meeting of 25+ meals he wouldn't have sold not to mention the beer and he won't have a problem with us leaving at 8:30. We can just be up front with him and let him know we fully expect to need that every month. If he doesn't like that, case closed. There are also tables out front on a covered sidewalk for those that want to hang out afterwards.

ummmm, that literally won't work for me. I work till 6 everyday, so I can't make it there until 6:30. The BMW and Ford meetings start at 7 as well. I'm always late. Now this becomes a club issue moving up the times. I'm tired from this damn training class I'm in right now and this whole meeting saga crap, so I'm not saying anything else tonight, I'll piss someone off....

BTW...I'm not saying don't give RH&B a try this month, just don't write Randy's off as an option. Maybe try Randy's in April and if they are both viable options take a poll. I'm definitely with you that at this point I'd almost rather be talking about generators and awnings. Thanks for all the effort you've put into the search.
